A handmade basket made from rush grass.
It is a traditional Japanese folk tool that was once called "Yami-kago" (black basket) because it was used in the warehouse to buy things for the black market after the war.
It is currently being updated daily by the fifth generation owner, Takataka Sunami.
Baskets tend to be associated with women, but the baskets made by Sunami Toru Shoten have a strength to them that makes them look natural even when used by men.
By wrapping leather around the handle, the image of this Japanese tool has been updated to a modern style.
This is a semi-standard model.
It is in the shape of an LL Bean tote bag.
The handles are also woven by hand, making this a basket with elaborate design.
The large size makes it ideal for overnight trips or business trips.
For men, the size is just about manageable for everyday use.
