A handmade basket made from rush grass.
It is a traditional Japanese folk tool that was once called "Yami-kago" (black basket) because it was used in the warehouse to buy things for the black market after the war.
It is currently being updated daily by the fifth generation owner, Takataka Sunami.
This basket is a model with a slightly different mesh specification than the standard style model, and since it is not molded, it has a more bouncy shape than the standard model.
The large size can be worn over the shoulder, making it easy for everyday use.
Baskets tend to be associated with women, but the baskets made by Sunami Toru Shoten have a strength to them that makes them look natural even when used by men.
