I think Japanese people have always been a people who truly value things made by hand, and I myself naturally love things that have the warmth of hand-made items.
How can I put it? Perhaps it's the sensation of an exquisite fluctuation created by the hand.
I find that kind of place attractive.
Each piece has a different expression.
Once completed, it will be a piece that can be called one of a kind in the world.
It is almost certain that the more such items are used, the more individual differences will emerge, making them even more one-of-a-kind.
I like vintage clothing because it takes on a different look when viewed from that perspective.
It's not just something that's rare or a matter of preference.
However, if it were all handmade, it would just be everyday items, so lately I'm most attracted to things that combine handmade work with creativity and designs that incorporate updated ingenuity from the present to the future.
As a career in fashion, I want more people to feel attached to it and enjoy life in it, so I want to continue to value this point.

A bag recommended by the UN
A basket made of igusa from Toru Sunami Shoten
amarillo's Ezo deer bag .
Both are completely handmade.
But the designs are very different.
While igusa baskets are traditional baskets that have been handed down for generations at the Kurashiki branch, the current fifth-generation owner, Sunami Takataka, has exquisitely updated them to fit modern lifestyles and fashions while retaining the techniques.
The bags made by Hokkaido leather artist Takahashi are made from the leather of Ezo deer, which is used to exterminate pests, and while they are full of the softness and delicacy unique to women, they are modern, beautiful, and comfortable to hold, unlike the deerskin tools made by Native Americans in North America. They are works of art that enrich the soul by owning them.
Both of these products have a strong sense of craftsmanship, but are sent out into the world as works that are close to art.
Work that needs to be left behind and ideas that need to be left behind.
Creativity and values that need to be changed.
The thoughts behind the scenes that we want to convey through fashion.
I would be happy if I could deliver even a little bit to everyone.
See you next time.
